RUTH ANN MOLYNEAUX
Ruth Ann’s Flowers abstract florals and dreamscapes

May 4 - June 10, 2012
Emmanuel Lutheran Church
920 Third Avenue
Rockford, Illinois

Opening Reception: Friday, May 4, 6 - 9 p.m. Celebration Room Gallery

My abstract florals began as a simple intention to paint flowers in
a vase using a limited palate. Sometimes I would begin three or
four small abstract designs at once quickly sketching paint onto canvas
or paper. Going back to them later I was fascinated how the images
seemed to come out of the work on their own. What would I see next?
I became fascinated with the results and was drawn more and more into
the work.

Dreamscapes began similarly. I would be painting or sometimes
collaging for the shear joy of playing with the media.
Landscapes, cityscapes or waterways would emerge.
I seldom paint from a still life or view outside my own inner vision,
but the work always reflects the world around me and celebrates life
in all its varied forms.
